Buying Guide
Buying a Used Shipping Container
What used WWT shipping containers look like, what the grade guarantees, what they cost relative to one-trip, and how to buy a good one with confidence.
The value case for used
A used wind-and-watertight container delivers the same weather protection as a like-new unit at a fraction of the price. The trade-off is purely cosmetic: rust patches, dents, faded paint, and floor repairs from years of ocean service. For storage, job sites, and agricultural use, used WWT is the default recommendation.
How to buy well
- •Buy on the grade guarantee, not the photos alone — WWT means no leaks, period
- •Ask for per-unit photos before committing (included with our quotes on request)
- •Compare full delivered price including tax, in your currency
- •Plan door orientation and site clearance before delivery day
Lifespan and maintenance
A used container in static storage service routinely lasts another 10–15+ years with minimal care: keep drainage clear under the unit, touch up rust spots occasionally, and keep door gaskets clean. See the maintenance guide for the full routine.
